In this short video, Giuseppina Casella, member of CSM – Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura – talks about the presence of women in the judiciary in Italy. Whereas today women account for 46% of judges, a glass ceiling that prevents them from reaching the top levels of judiciary, exists. In CSM, for example, out of 26 members only 2 are women. Ms Casella proposes some strategies to redress gender imbalance, such as positive actions.
