The international press has been discussing the resignation and firing of Jill Abramson, the first woman executive editor of The New York Times. Interestingly, Editor-in-chief of the French title Le Monde, Natalie Nougayrède, also stepped down. Now while the details of both of these events are being discussed, a few points have been openly highlighted in the media. Two questions have emerged: is is harder for women to climb to top positions? And is it harder for them to keep their positions given the power struggles that they face?
