Gender Equality in Political and Economic Decision-Making

Gender Equality in Political and Economic Decision-Making

International Conference : 15 and 16 October 2015, Luxembourg

Despite higher qualifications and with their ever-increasing presence on the labour market, women remain under-represented as decision-makers, in both the private and public sector. The proportion of women in political decision-making is slightly better than the one in economic decision-making. However, women remain a minority in comparison with men.

As part of the Luxembourgish presidency of the Council of the European Union, the ministry for Equal Opportunities in cooperation with the Luxembourg National Council of Women (CNFL), is organizing an international conference with renowned experts from the field, to discuss strategies that will actively promote women participation in political and economic decision-making.

Political decision-making:  15 October 2015, 1.30 pm – 5.30 pm

Economic decision-making:  16 October 2015, 2.30 pm – 6.00

Les Thermes, Mondorf-les-Bains (Luxembourg)
