EP Women’s Rights committee public hearing on Women with Disabilities 29th May in Brussels

The European Parliament Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality will hold a public hearing on “Women with Disabilities” on Wednesday 29 May 2013 from 15h00 – 18h00 in the Paul Henry Spaak Building, 5th floor, room B001 in Brussels. The aim of the hearing is to gain indepth knowledge for Angelika Werthmann’s (Austria, ALDE) report to be drafted and presented in the Women’s Rights committee meeting on 10 July.

In the first panel, high level experts, such as Dr. Konstantina Davaki of the London School of Economics and Judit Demeter, former President of Hungarian Equal Treatment Authority, will present facts and figures as regards to the discrimination against women with disabilities. The second panels will deal with solutions for the integration of women with disabilities. Experts are Ana Peláez Narváez, Director of International Relations at the Spanish National Organisation of the Blind (ONCE), and Ana Sofia Maria, Centre for Professional Training, Lisbon.

The hearing is open to public.
